  Some years ago now we bought one of our dogs from these Kennels and have regularly boarded both our dogs with them since. The owners are very friendly with an extensive knowledge of animals. The kennels themselves are spotless and we wouldn't board our dogs anywhere else. There is a cattery onsite which has been beautifully done out and is by far the best cattery in the area. We used it for our family cat and he absolutely loved it in there. The owners are very accomodating and we can't thank them enough for everything.

  Some years ago now we bought our pup from these Kennels. The owners are very friendly with an extensive knowledge of animals. The kennels themselves are spotless and we wouldn't board our dogs anywhere else. There is a cattery onsite which has been beautifully done out and is by far the best cattery in the area. We used it for our family cat and he absolutely loved it in there. The owners are very accomodating and I can't thank them enough for everything.

  Sorry on rereading my review sounds like Sundown only or mainly rehome problem dogs. I meant to say some dogs waiting to be rehomed MIGHT have an unknown history - not just Sundowns dogs - sorry.

  I got a stray dog for us and one for my elderly father. One of the dogs was getting on a bit and therefore they had been unable to rehome. They let us have that one for free and we just paid for the younger one. Both dogs are brilliant now - one had been very obviously mistreated by its previous owners which made him quite nervous and growly when approached by strangers so I would always keep him locked behind a gate when grandchildren visited etc but now he is a much happier more confident dog so they can mix with him and we take him walks together etc . Sundown are not to blame for this as many of their dogs have an unknown or mistreated history but I would never leave any dog unattended with children in any event. But with a bit of training and restoral of trust in humans these dogs can be great pets which would otherwise might not get another chance if it werent for Sundown. So I think they do a great service and both dogs both go there for our holidays and wag their tails like mad when they see the lady and her mother who used to feed them - they both obviously remember their stay there as a good experience.

• Great kennels

  Use this kennel with confidence i took a stray puppy here and came back the day after as I saw bad reports on the internet. These people have been here 6yrs and the kennels could not be better kept. It was spotlessly clean and dry food and water down in clean bowls for the pup. he had a double duvet on a spotless tiled floor and nice toys for hime to play with. He had slept well and was calm and loving with the owner. She had really looked after him I could tell. They do not put dogs down after 7days the Dogs Trust take them and find them homes if Sundown havn't been able to rehome. Please don't read old reviews for this kennel as things are superb now and these new owners r lovely and proper dog lovers. Di Smith dated 4th. Sept 2010

  iv used sundown 3 times now and my dogs going next month, itz fantastic clean n they have runs with heating.very friendly and they get really well looked after.

  I TOOK MY DOG TO SUNDOWN KENNELS AND THOUGHT IT WAS A REALLY GOOD SERVICE , MY DOG ENJOYED HER STAY AND THE PRICE WAS RESONABLE BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY SHE WAS WELL LOOKED AFTER
