Labels Finishing and Supply in Lytham St. Annes
Lytham St. Annes
Douglas Storrie Labels started life as a small unit in its present location in 1951. Selling printed coloured ribbons locally, and then to the UK wholesale market. The first step into labels was a hot foil press, with which Douglas Storrie developed and sold the first insole labels to the UK shoe market. On the back of this success the firm expanded rapidly to fill all the industrial units at Tudor Road. A visit to an exhibition in Paris in 1973 resulted in the purchase of the firm's first flexographic label press. Other printing presses followed and a vibrant self-adhesive label business began to flourish.
Thanks to the foresight and entrepreneurial skills of Douglas Storrie the company that bears his name has grown steadily. In 1994, to meet increased demand from customers, the factory and warehouse space was doubled in size and today there are eleven machines producing a wide range of labels and tickets for the current UK market. Douglas's son, Nigel, has taken on the mantle of running the company and, in keeping with the principles of our founder, we are constantly looking to make new investments in order to maintain our competitive edge on price, quality, and customer service which the modern business environment demands.
Douglas Storrie Labels is a leading manufacturer of plain or printed labels; on rolls; on laser sheets; cut singly, and computer fan-folded. Also produced are plain and printed tickets, tags; hot and cold foil labels, consecutively numbered bar-coded labels, and labels with variable information.
